Hello folks,
Welcome to my weblog.
My first review is on The Chronicles of Narnia. As some of you know there is a new movie coming out Decmember 9th.One of the many links is here www.narnia.com. As with many movies coming or have been shown, they don't due to books of the orginal story justice.
So I wish to address the book we hear so much about. The Lion,The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Though it was the first published, there are six other books in this wonderful series.
The first book is called The Magician's Nephew. This book explains in detail how Narnia come into existence as well as how the witch came to Narnia, and who the first king and queen were. This is only the start of a wonderful series of fantasy and mystery.
The second is of course, The Lion The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The book goes into the war that wages against the witch and the great lion Aslan. As it draws near to the final battle, the excitement mounts. As we are hipnotized by the story, we find ourselves rooting for the lion to beat the evil witches butt. This is second book I encourge you to read. The third is called The Horse and His Boy. This story takes place during the rein of the kings and queens from the second book. Here we find out about a boy who runs away with a talking horse. He does this so that he won't be sold to a harsh man by his dad. As he journeys through the land that borders Narnia. He meets a girl also running away, as she is being forced to marry. These two become friends and soon the boy finds out he is really the missing twin of a prince who is visting their conutry. Find out what happens to the boy and the girl as the story mounts. Will it end happily? Find out for yourself.
The fourth book is called Prince Caspian. This story goes into a brief history of what happens after the kings and queens from the second book, return to our realm. Caspian needs their help in order to restore peace and harmony to Narnia. The fifth is called The Voyage of The Dawn Treader. This story begins with the introduction of Eustace Clarence Scrubb, an unpleasant, arrogant young boy whose parents are the epitome of prudishness. He is a well educated young man, however, having interest in a variety of different areas. How it ends depends on your reading the book. Try it ! The sixth is The Silver Chair.
The silver chair is the introduction of Jill, who meets up with Eustace. The two had been commanded by Aslan to find Prince Caspian. Aslan then gives the four signs to find the prince in Narnia. Jill does agree to go and the adventure that follows is quite exciting. The seventh book of this wonderful series is The Last Battle. The book is divided into two parts. The first is
one, an Ape called Shift bullies and forces his companion Puzzle the donkey to wear an old lion skin on his back and to pretend he's Aslan the great Lion. Allied with Calormenes, they start slaughtering Talking Beasts and doing other evil deeds. To Tirian, the current King of Narnia, and to his dear friend Jewel the noble Unicorn, this seems like a most unusual behaviour for Aslan, so they set out in search of the truth. They'll call children from our world to their aid: Eustace and Jill. In the second half of the book, like in a mirror image of the adventures of Digory and Polly in The Magician's Nephew, we witness the unmaking of the World by Aslan ,the real one. All the characters return from the previous volumes, return for the final journey to the forever kingdom of Aslan. This ensues a battle opposing the King's small party to the Calormenes and the Men and Beasts they've managed to cheat. But I will let you come to your own conclusion.
Mine is that the books of Narnia are excellently written and should be enjoyed by people of ALL ages.
Happy reading !
